Requim For a Dream Monologue

My example of a communication model is the monologue in a movie called Requiem For A Dream by the actress Ellen Burstyn. I think it is the perfect example because it shows such raw emotion and she is obviously trying to convey a feeling of lonliness and sadness in the fact that she has noone around. She is talking to her son telling him all this because she wants him to recieve the fact that he needs to be around more for her because she does feel so lonely. She has all of these emotions and thoughts running through her head and she has to figure out how to let someone know them. When she then tells her son he recieves what she is trying to say and offers to bring his girlfriend over for dinner soon. He also offers to come back more often so that she doesnt feel as lonely. In the speech you can see it in her eyes and facial expression that she isnt happy. That, and the tone of her voice are the most effective parts of this speech. She clearly conveys she is depressed from being alone and the reciever, her son, notices this and responds accordingly. There isnt much noise going on during this speech because she is clearly stating how she feels and her son is intently listening to her.
